This is the first book by Sir Terry Pratchett in his wonderful, amusing, vastly entertaining Discworld series.* This series resulted in his being given his Knighthood in England for his "services to literature". The audio version is read very well and totally entertaining.

This is the first Discworld book and still one of the best. It's a beautiful tale within itself, but still means that you want to carry on reading.
The characters still seem fresh and new, and the mystery and fantasy are really lovely.
I came across the Discworld series late through an anthology called Legends. After reading the short story "Sea and Little Fishes", I went back through Pratchetts' series rather haphazardly.
