The book is hard to "get into". I have decided to order the movie and get the story that way. It being about a boy and his dogs, I am told by friends it is a very good book, but just not my cup of tea. It's not a bad book, just doesn't peak my interest. I will probably wait a while to order the ...

The most resounding image from this novel was the one that included spilled dog intestines. It was not pretty. Though it is written fairly well, the story is, as a whole, disappointing.
