Most of the texts of The Secret of Fame are already known by faithful or occasional readers, but when united they constitute a very scary group to be faced like this, unexpectedly, because when isolated they can provoke a smile, amuse us, make us think and remember; but the pages of this book and the 18 texts, of different extension, don't provide us with an escape route. Gabriel Zaid's prose is as good as his poetry; perfectly balanced.
