This book is used for professional use. It is both helpful and required for diagnosing mental illness. The book explains all criteria needed to determine the presence of mental illness. A good companion is the DSM-IV-TR in Action which helps form treatment plans and ,make the DSM more user friendly.

The quick reference guide to the DSM IV is like the Sparknotes for a well-known novel. It is simply indispensible in remembering and recallin g criteria, codes, etc. I recommend this book highly to anyone in the service professions: especially mental health.

For anyone that is a counselor knows that many of the tools we use are very expensive, this was reasonably prices and I will use this book the rest of my career. Book was in very good condition and shipped quickly.
