From that rash, earnest promise grew one of the most incredible humanitarian campaigns of our time--Mortenson's one-man mission to counteract extremism by building schools, especially for girls, throughout the breeding ground of the Taliban. Award-winning journalist David Oliver Relin has collaborated on this spellbinding account of Mortenson's incredible accomplishments in a region where Americans are often feared and hated. Over the following decade Mortenson built not just one but fifty-five schools. Three Cups of Tea is at once an unforgettable adventure and the inspiring story of how one man really is changing the world--one school at a time.Make this your next book club selection and everyone saves. I couldn't finish this book, as hard as I tried. The writing is of such poor, amateurish quality that it distracts from the story of one man's passion. I have never heard of David Oliver Relin, but he did not do justice to Greg Mortenson. Sorry, not recommended.

Love fiction, generally don't like non-fiction. It's not that I don't have utmost respect for amazing people and their inspiring lives...but I just get bored and wait for it to end impatiently.
This book was the exception... It REALLY sucked me in. I itched to read more and more. Just goes to show ...
