Terrific album

Michel Rivard, ex of Quebec's venerable folk group Beau Dommage, has a real hit here. He's an excellent songwriter, from tackling social issues such as prostitution ("Liberer le tresor") or racism ("Ni tout a fait noir"), to reimagining children's songs ("Loup y-es-tu?") and lullabies. Rivard has put together a great backup band, with interesting orchestration. My only quibble is that he has a bit of a tendency toward the sentimental cliche.
