"After reading two later books in the series, I decided to go back and start from the beginning. I liked this one a lot...good plot twists and it's interesting to see where it all began. I would recommend this series to anyone who likes cats or a series oriented batch of books."
"This is another series of light mysteries that I enjoyed reading - the "Midnight Louie" series. Set in Las Vegas, the main human character is a private investigator and has a cat (Midnight Louie) that also does his own "investigations". I have read all of them in alphabetical order which I recommend. You'll know what I mean when you see the titles."
"One of the first Midnight Louie Books I read. It hooked me. I think I've read all of them published so far, and now I can't wait for the next one. It's not so much the mysteries, which are not always completely solved at the end of each book, that keep me reading. It's waiting to see what happens next in the lives of the characters, Temple Barr, the Mystifying Max, the ex-priest Matt, the eccentric landlady Electra, and, of course the cats. Midnight Louie and his maybe daughter Midnight Louise get their canine and feline friends involved in helping protect their Temple Barr as she seems to always be finding dead bodies in the course of her work as a PR person in Las Vegas. And naturally, she gets involved in the investigating, much to the dismay of Carmen Molina, homicide detective. She, in turn, has her own problems and vendettas. Allthough each book is a murder mystery in itself, the series as a whole is another mystery that never seems to end. And I really don't want it to, because I have gotten to know the characters, both human and feline, pretty well by now, and I will miss them if Douglas stops writing about them."
