"I think everyone can find value in this book. Anger is something we all feel and this book really helps to take a different look at this emotion and being aware of it."
"Somehow I seem to be reading a lot of self-help books lately... And as a general rule, I don't much care for them as they are largely about self-esteem (gag) and how it's all good as long as YOU are "happy" (double gag). But here is one from a biblical perspective that was actually helpful. Yes, I have some anger issues. I can admit it. And this book helped me realize that anger in itself is natural, and not a sin, though what we do it can certainly be. Also, it contains a chapter on helping kids deal with anger. Overall, definitely helpful and easy to understand, with handy little tear-out cards it the back to help you remember the main parts (sadly, mine was from the library. I'll make my own cards!). Gary Chapman offers realistic advice here and concrete examples."
"I took a quiz a few months ago that revealed that I suck at anger. I never really learned how to deal with it. I actually liked this book, which I read in one long sitting in a bookstore, though I am not a huge fan of Gary Chapman in general. Much of it was pretty basic, but I needed the remedial coursework. One of the biggest insights from it was that anger can be such a productive thing: like pain, it is a spur that drives you to change something that needs changing. I also appreciate the view that there is such a thing as appropriate anger ("holy" or "righteous" anger, which is a good characteristic of God) and that many Christians wrongly have an underdeveloped anger muscle. It also humbled me because I realized how much of my anger is just the plain old self-centered kind. In general I didn't learn great anger management skills or insight in my family growing up, and I'm hoping this book will improve my ability to model such skills with my kids."
"This book taught me that it's okay to be angry...even with God sometimes - actually quite normal. It's what I do with that anger and how I handle it that matters."
