"This Black Panther story adds a whole new dimension of realism as we follow the Black Panther's diplomatic missions in the wake of the Super-Hero Civil War in the USA. We more fully understand that not only is Black Panther a hero, but a king, and his extraordinary partner, Storm, helps provide a dynamic pairing. Like most Marvel tales, this story obliquely references contemporary challenges in American life and through Black Panther's character helps us consider the outside perspective. Beyond this it is a story of relationships and leadership and a great story with the beautiful artwork that characterizes contemporary graphic novels and comic books."
"Reprints Black Panther #19-25. The Black Panther and Storm are pulled off their honeymoon and debate with Dr. Doom, the Inhumans, Namor, Iron Man, and Captain America about being drawn into the Civil War in the United States. The Black Panther is a very average title and the Civil War started strong but fizzled. It was nice to see the Black Panther interact with some groups outside of his normal bubble, but the Civil War ties forced the story to feel condensed and ends abruptly with the end of the Civil War series (which they didn't want to really take away from so the reader just has to know what is happening to understand the last issue)."
"I picked this up at the library because I'm getting all of their Marvel Civil War titles, and was surprised how much I enjoyed it. Slightly ashamed to say I'd never heard of the Black Panther, but I ended up really liking the character. He has just married Storm (X-Men), and I particularly liked the portrayal of their relationship. This trade deals a lot with the "foreign" (non-US) perspective on the Marvel Civil War, which added another dimension to the overall story."
"the first few issues (originally NOT Civil War tie-ins) are amazing 5-star stuff, but the last few issues take a dip in quality. still worth the read."
