"Entertaining, but it's 700 pages of opinion masquerading as fact. The fact that he bails out on the history of the league when he reaches the mid-80s is a big problem. So is daring to compare his book to Bill James'. This was fun, but it won't age well."
"AS a big fan of his columns and the NBA so I enjoyed his book. I feel like to enjoy it you need to have knowledge of the league and the players. It is not an introductory book to the league or Simmons work. Some of his jokes are a little over the top. There is a lot of truth to the fact that it is a long book but I don't feel like there is any wasted space. I will need to read parts again and references the foot notes was kind of disjointed but they definitely added to the experience. The way he looks at the league is unique and at times overly complex. I found myself checking back on the definitions of the levels, players from certain eras, etc. Worth reading if you love the NBA."
