"The third installment in the series, "...The Last Straw" continues the hilarious struggles of Greg, a tween trying to survive school and home life. Through great drawings and honest writing, Kinney captures what it's like to be a boy stuck in junior high school. I found myself cackling during many parts of the book, especially Greg's ongoing struggle with avoiding the laundry. And when Greg puts on his mother's bathrobe and stands over the heat vent in the floor? That was exactly what I did when I was his age."
"The wimpy kid books never fail to make me laugh. Kinney has a great sense of comic timing in these books and the pictures really do make the story what it is.
What bothers me about these books is the main character's attitude and the way he treats others. I hope that kids see that the reason Greg gets himself into trouble all the time is because of his attitude. Instead of looking up to him, it's my hope that kids who read this book say, "Man, if Greg just treated people with a little more respect then maybe he wouldn't always get himself into these bad situations."
I've said it in other reviews of these books before, but I'll say it again: I don't think Greg's physique is wimpy; I think his character is."
"This book is really good. I love the series. It makes me laugh. I would love to recomand this book to people who like comedy.
This part on page 14 when he says "The Whirley street kids made monkey noises when they passed us, which was really annoying because that's exactly what we used to do when we passed them. It makes me think like they were tring to bully them.
I relate to my character on page 1o and 11 because Greg tells his grandpa that he does not do his laundry. I relate to that because I don't do my laundry either my grandma does. Also when Greg said what he gets is not useful I think the same thing.
I notice how Greg always wants Rowley to do all the work. Like dig a hole, put in video games into a shoe box to dig out in 2300.Maybe he is being selfish.
Greg believes that the ads in the back of the magizine are real.I relate to that because sometmes I believe them and wanna get it.But Greg notices how they don't work.
Greg lost lost his soccor games because he got distracted of the dandilons. His dad was always on his case so he won't get distracted. I also relate to that because my grandma is always on my case.
Greg likes a girl named Holly. He is trieng to get her attention. But everything he does does not work. For example he tried calling her and Holly's mom answered the phone then Greg's mom pcked up the phone on the other side and then Holy's mom was talking to Greg's mom."
