"In this book the Authors review the stories of the Old Testament from both a Literary and Women's Point of View. They examine, for example the "fall in the Garden of Eden" not as womens or humans down fall, but rather their trimuph of the first independant action of Humanity. Danna Fewell and David Gunn are quick to point out that while Eve is blamed for her actions to eat of the fruit from the tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil - prior to eating from that tree she didn't not know good and evil, she is an innocent. She had no way of knowing if the snake was good or evil - it was knowledge she had not learned. I am currently studying the Old Testament for School and while struggling with the other books on my reading list, I find this book to be a breathe of fresh air. While feminist in it's view, the authors don't hammer your head with it. An excellent work if you are looking to read the Old Testament from the point of view of the marginalized and those who barley have a voice in the Old Testament. A Challenge to some, enlightening to others. Enjoy."
