"A board book that never makes my boy bored. **Spoiler Alert**: Not appropriate, however, for parents who become easily embarrassed when imitating various animal sounds (eg, yelping like a peacock, braying like a zebra, bellowing like walrus, etc.)."
"This book is about zoo animals that range from polar bears to walrus that make their distinctive sounds for each other, while the reader or children imitate the sounds for the zookeeper. In the classroom you can discuss all the different sounds that are appropriate for each zoo animal and even plan a field trip to the zoo so the children can see, first hand each animal. The students can even write their own story or draw pictures of their favorite zoo animal. What I found to be neat is if the children act out the story as if they are the animals themselves."
"This book has a lot of opportunities for the kids to participate, which they love. The only problem is that some of the animals chosen are really hard to imitate. No one knows what a flamingo sounds like! In a way, it's fun to see what crazy noise the kids will come up with for that, but sometimes they're just flustered and don't make any noise at all, which is a bummer."
