"This book is super creepy. It's so bad I'm actually thinking about getting rid of it. The rainbow fish is stuck up so no one likes him, then he gives all his scales away to make the other fish like him. Couldn't he just try being nice?!?! I'm not sure what kind of cult he joined by giving away all his possesions/body parts, but he was better off without friends like that!"
"This is a nice story about a fish who is very beautiful because of the shiny scales he has. He is rude to a little fish who begs him for one of his scales, causing all of the other fish to avoid him. When the rainbow fish goes to the wise octopus for advise, he is told to give every fish one of his scales, and that he won't be the most beautiful anymore, but he'll be much happier. The rainbow fish is reluctant to do this at first, but gradually he realizes the happiness in giving his scales to his friends. In the end he is not the most beautiful after giving away all of his scales but one, but he is certainly more happy and has many friends. A nice story to read to children about friendship and giving."
