"BEST Paris travel guide available. It's written for the everyday, Joe/Jane Schmo traveler on a budget, and is full of practical -- and humorous -- knowledge."
"You can't go wrong with any of Rick Steves' travel books and his volume on Paris is no exception. It is an expanded version of the section in his book on France so if you're not traveling outside the city, don't bother buying both.
Rick concentrates on the budget traveler. His restaurant and hotel recommendations are the more modest 2 star ones so this book is not for those with an ample travel budget. But his tip for visiting Versailles, for example, will more than save you the price of the book.
"Used the 2009 edition for our recent trip to Paris. Particularily helpful for walking tours through neighborhoods. Highlight tours in museums. If you go to Pere Lachasse cemetary stop and get a map from a florist the guide in the book is not detailed enough. He uses hand drawn maps that could be inmproved with a little more detail or color photos but then it wouldn't be Rick Steves."
