"It was insightful to read these intelligently written poems by Tupac Shakur, knowing what he went on from here to write, to see where he started and how smart some of the topics of these poems are. However, some of the poems did remind me of typical teenage angst poetry, so I can't say it's a great piece of literature. I'd recommend it to anyone who really likes Tupac. :)"
"This book sent a positive message to the reader. I beleive the authour's intention of the moral was to say that from watever background you come from, you can still rise and become something as beatiful as a rose, just as the title explains."
"very very very good poems. tupacs poems are talking about things he has went through in his life. his poems are nothing like his songs, they have more sweet moments than his songs.his poems are talking about his troubles in his life before he was murdered."
"Anyone whose read his lyrics already knows he has poetic skill, and he shows it from time to time here. At other points, he falls far short of what I'd expect to be published. What is most interesting are the subjects he chooses to write on and the viewpoints he exposes, which still manage to surprise even coming from someone as unique as Shakur."
