"I am not that far in this book right now but so far I have learned alot of things from this book. I m used to watching the movies with their simplified and twisted up plots of the books. So far the book is actual different from the movies. It turns out that Edie Brock and peter where child hood friends and always spent time together playing and just being kids. In the movie Brock was this new guy at petres job and they had no history whatsoever. At this point in the book peter and Mary jane are separated due to something that happened recently between them. So peter has been very agitated and angry about the whole situation and is dying to get back with her.But besides that Peter goes out with Brock to catch up on something over a cup of coffee. Brock tells him about this experiment he is working on and stuff, which is the black venom that in the movie takes over the body and latches on like to you like a host. In the movie this was a completely different situation. The venom had came out of no where as if it were some type of object from out of space or an alien organism. Plus in the movie Brock was in no way involved with it until it accidentally landed on his body when peter ripped it off of his body and it was from that point on that he became venom. Well so far im learning alot from this book that wasnt mentioned in any of the movies and I hope to continue to read this book and get into the actione jammed part of the story where spiderman and venom battle it out fist to fist. That is one of the main reasons I am reading this book, because I like action alot and because I am a big fan of the movies."
"Okay, but the weakest of the volumes I've read so far - my issue is that the whole Venom arc was wrapped up far too quickly and too simply, leading to a very unsatisfying reintroduction of one of Spider-man's most memorable foes."
"This was action-packed. The story kind of differed from the versions that I have seen in past. Instead of a gooey alien substance from outer space, this time the black goop was part of a project that Peter and Eddie Brock's father created. Weird. It was supposed to cure cancer but they never finished it because the company they were working for didn't want them to."
