"The writing style is atrocious. There is no easy way to say it. The prose simply throws your eye off the page after a few paragraphs. And the author is highly opinionated; he wrote this book to demonstrate that Citation was better than Man of War and Secretariat. The trouble is, he doesn't persuad, he bludgeons. That being said, it is a great sourcebook for drawing your own conclusions, and it sheds light on the career of a glorious racehorse that has been neglected. The best part is his calling of a fantasy race between all the thoroughbred greats. So, if you are into thoroughbred racing, by all means get the book, but treat it as a reference work rather than something to read cover to cover. Laura Hillenbrand can sleep easy"
