"Certainly a book not in-line with my personal theological slant, but there were few great insights available. Many of these insights need to be re-contextualized to be effectively implemented w/in a progressive paradigm."
"Hmm. I got this book since I had heard so much about it, but I was disappointed. It started poorly, and frankly I don't think it is that well written. It is frustratingly weak on theological grounding. I kept thinking, "And what part does God play in this, exactly?" Apart from a smattering of references to the need for prayer, the focus is all on how we tap in the right code to get the results we want. It got better towards the wend with some helpful tips about the process of church planting."
"Key point: why do USA churches do "evangelism" while missionaries do "missions"? It's the same. Just like cross-cultural missionaries, churches should be "learning the language and studying the culture" of their neighborhood in order to effectively reach them for Christ."
