About this title: While in Memphis, psychic Harper Connelly senses--and finds--two bodies in a grave. One is of a man centuries-dead. The other, a recently deceased girl. Harpers investigation yields another surprise: the next morning, a third body is found--in the very same grave.

"The final book of the four book series. It ends the overarching mystery of the series -- what happened to Cameron, Connolly and Tolliver's sister.
I actually give this book 3 1/2 stars rather than four. I knock off half a star because I thought the resolution of the mystery of Cameron's disappearance dove-tailed too nicely and neatly with Connolly and Tolliver's latest case.
I was also very surprised and (a little depressed, actually) at the reveal of what happened to Cameron. I feel like how Connolly and Tolliver probably felt. Which is a great compliment to CH as an author.
I do like the fact that Conolly and Tolliver got closure and peace in the end and their further travels together had a nice optimistic feel to it.
I did like the three previous books in the series better, but this was still a very strong entry to a very good series and a satisfying conclusion."
"I'm liking the Harper Connely books, but it seems to be lacking in the climax area. Once I've realized who the culprit may be, I'm looking for a more, exciting(?) confrontation... Harper and her brother find themselves in Memphis TN where a professor has hired her to do a reading on graves in a church on the grounds of a college. The records of the dead had been found after many years of being lost and now Harper is being challanged on her ability to read the deaths of dead people. An unexpected find throws everything into chaos. Harper stumbles onto the remains of a kidnapped 11 year old from 2 years before that Harper just could not locate at the time. Now that she's found her, and coincedentally, the family of the little girl now lives in Memphis after living in Nashville when the abduction happened, Harper finds herself in a situation, again, that all fingers point to her. When the professor that hired her shows up dead in the same grave that the little girl was found in just makes things worse. Who did it? There are many possibilites, but the final "showdown" of the bad guy and Harper just seems to be lacking this time. I enjoyed listening to this story as I did the first one, but the final confrontation was just a little too unreal for me, a little too quick, hence the 3 stars."
"I needed something lighter and less intense than all the non-fiction I've been reading. This is the second, I believe, in the Harper Connelly series. As a recap, Harper was struck by lightning when she was young and now she can find corpses and see how they died. She travels with her brother on jobs, she's who people call as a last resort.
This one is a case within a case. Harper, on another assignment, actually finds a body of a child that she was asked to find (and couldn't) months earlier. In come the police, the family and everyone else. Most believe Harper is a fraud and want to know what her involvement is in the murder. Harper and her brother Tolliver believe it's too much of a coincidence that the little girl's body showed up at the new assignment. Someone was framing her.
And so on. Frankly this wasn't as entertaining as the first book. A little slow and delving into a previous case and trying to connect it all together was a little splotchy. I had figured out the whodunit part way early on and just had to wait for everyone else to catch up."
"I really like this series. Harper is a very interesting main character. She is both tough and human - a realistic female character you can admire. I enjoy the character of her best friend Tolliver as well. The fact that both characters travel means that the background characters are always changing which is more interesting.
There are mystery series that I enjoy that always take place in the same small town, but after a few books you begin to wonder why the same character is always discovering a dead body. You also begin to notice when a "new" character is suddenly inserted into the story and then you know that person is going to wind up dead or act as the murderer. So it is refreshing to read about new places and new faces in each volume of this mystery series."
