"I bought this last February and i still watch it at times. It became from the first time i saw it my favorite film (actually it is a bbc miniseries). It is not just perfect, it is addictive. Do not miss this one, especially if you love Austen, there's nothing like it, it's the best adaptation ever. "After seeing the movie on PBS TV, I wanted a copy, but I could not accept one done in washed out monotone browns. I read some reviews about the newer DVD version being dull and washed out. They were recommending that I buy the old VHS version, however, they had none available at that site. I did a search and came up with this wonderful website that offers old and out of date books and movies. I ordered the VHS copy of "Pride and Prejudice" in the 6 volume box and was not disappointed. This movie was so beautifully done, that you must enjoy it in color. The breathtaking countryside and other scenes demand living color. The characters, all dressed in authentic period costume, were very well chosen and did a superb job of playing out their parts in a way that was completely Victorian in the customs and the attitudes of that period. The undeniable attraction that Darcy and Lizzie felt toward each other was irresistable. The story had as much humor, as it did romance, but this was romance at its best. This is, by far, the best romantic story that was ever written."
