About this title: Since it contains ten classics and five latter-day live tracks, it's hard to agree with the assessment of the title of Varese's Absolutely the Best. This 15-track collection certainly contains a selection of the Flamin' Groovies' best material -- after all, "Slow Death," "Teenage Head," and "I Can't Hide" are among their best rockers, and "Shake Some Action" and "You Tore Me Down" are two definitive power-pop songs -- but the five live tracks keep this one back, even if hearing the group tear through "A Million Miles Away" may please some hardcore fans.
