Their sternest test came when an Iranian mine ripped open the ship's engine room, ignited fires on four decks, and plunged the ship into darkness. A truely well written book. This story leaves nothng out and no unanswered questions concerning the ship, the events leading up to the mining incident or what happens to the ship after. Mr Peniston lets the reader get to know the crew from the time they report aboard until after they leave the ship. We get to learn how the crew was trained and their experiences leading up to that fateful day. This is a must read book for any one who loves naval history and particularlt those of us who love ships histories.
