Her story is one of Deep South summers, fights at school and playing in the street. The spooky house of her mysterious neighbour, Boo Radley, sags dark and forbidding nearby. Her brother, Jem, and her friend, Dill, want to make Boo come outside. Her story is about justice. When Scout's father, a lawyer, agrees to defend a black man against an accusation by a white girl, he must battle the prejudice of the whole town. It's about imagination - not just the kind you need for childhood games. Because you never really know a man until you stand in his shoes and walk around in them. and accurate portrayal of a bygone(???) era in human history albeit noted as"fiction".Draws the reader right in to the sad injustices of an imperfect society.
Excellent "story" indeed that causes one to THINK.

Above expectations
The package arrived extremely fast and in perfect condition. The added plus was the paper it was wrapped in, it was a really nice touch and my girlfriend is going to love it. (The book is a gift)

Beautiful Copy of a Classic--Stick with Alibris
I wanted to gift my wife a 50 th Anniversary reissue of To Kill a Mockingbird . I usually use Alibris but for convenience ---I elected to buy a copy from another online vendor described as in"very good" condition and pictured with a dustcover. Book arrived in horrible shape--no dustcover, multiple underlined passages and dog-eared pages and pages from another book stuffed into the book. Took several weeks to get a refund--even then there were out of pocket costs for mailing it back. Purchased this perfect "brand new" copy from Alibis -arrived in pristine condition.
Though I have used Alibris for this type of purchase about 95% of the time now it is 100%.
