This book is a quick and exciting read, that I literally couldn't put down until I had finished it. Xenophon's tale is one that includes all the elements of a great story; courage, loyalty, treachery, greed and heroics. It's a must read for any lover of Greek history and ranks with the battles of Marathon and Thermoplylae in its depiction of Xenophon's struggle against overwhelming odds to return to his home.
