Able to recreate the feeling and the mindset of decades of American life, rescuing them from the cobwebs that usually surround them. Honest, thorough, exciting.

Kudos
Quality, for an older book, was good. The service was excellent as always.

Great book, great price, fast ship!
This is volume #2 of William Manchester's narrative history of the United States 1932 - 1972. As a person who had read several books & articles on American history and politics, I found this book did and excellent job of putting that period into context. Sometimes reading history came be a real chore but Glory and the Dream just flows. You look up to take a swig of your now cold coffee and 10 pages went bye.
Of course one of the great benefits of reading history is because it sheds light on today and hopefully helps figure out a course for tomorrow. Manchester is outstanding!
Since the book is out of print, this website is a god send. Thanks again for a place that a reader can find old books at a great price.
