I got this because he is one of the greats in pastel media, and also a well known teacher. This book is useful, maybe more for beginner and intermediate painters.
There are several step by step demos so you get a good idea of what he is trying to teach you.
It's very basic and I didn't learn anything I didn't know already, but loved his section on trees.
