I have two of the books by author Ruth Maxwell on the subject of alcoholism. They are both excellent. I recommend this book because it clearly states so many of the issues that are difficult if not totally impossible to understand if someone does not clearly state that what you are experiencing is related to the use of alcohol. Once I read the book I saw that much of what tore our family apart years ago was not the lack of money or education or social standing but it was alcohol use and it's subtle but absolute insidious destruction of the ability to see, evaluate, reason or problem solve in a purposeful deliberate manner. Often people try to solve alcohol related issues through mainstream counseling, which may be somewhat helpful, but it also totally mistreats the real issue that is the root cause of the problems in question--alcoholism. This book in a few pages points out the basic issues the gives clear cut tools to begin the journey to healing which have been proven again and again to be successful if applied to the situation. I highly recommend this book!
