Malcolm Muggeridge has a great perspective from a 20th century author. His observations on the impact of individuals in how people think about faith are very insightful. This book is well written, succinct, and a great read! Enjoy!

A masterpiece
Malcolm Muggeridge must be accounted as one the the finest writers in the English language. He shares a quality with other great writers in this language, such as Shakepeare, C.S. Lewis and Chesterton, as being a pure delight to read. He could probably write about yesterday's trash and make it engrossing. However, Muggeridge is also a writer that enjoys the big themes. I find this book very inspiring, as Muggeridge explores the lives of several seemingly diverse figures, such as Pascal, Blake, Kierkegaard, Tolstoy and Bonhoeffer. What the figures have in common is a faith and a vision of life and humanity that is a gift to our present culture of triviality and death. Wonderful book.
