Carlo Lucarelli is an author and TV personality in Italy. He has written 5 small crime stories (that I know of). They are so terse as to be in short-hand, almost! This one features a blind witness who identifies by the "color "of the voice. He is able to assist Det Insp Gracia Negro in solving murders by a serial killer loose in Bologna. Negro is a feisty outside the box detective, and Simone the witness fascinates with his uncanny ability to identify people by the color of their voices.
