This is a book for drama fans and those who love love triangles. Even if not a fan of the lovely witch Angelique this book is still enjoyable. The tale adds new depth to the whole Barnabas, Angelique, and Josette plot. The book reveals Angelique to be Armand's bastard daughter and the half sister to her enemy Josette. It is plot twists such as this that keep the soap opera feeling alive in the pages. Alright some of the story is old to fans who know the show and Victoria Winters is not anywhere in the book, but still this is a truely wonderful book. Lara Parker is a grifted writer. One wishes she would write more novels even if not tied to the Dark Shadows Universe. This is a definate book to read for anyone who wants a great story with even greater charecters. Those who loved the whole 1795 storyline on the show will be in heaven.
