copied & pasted session text; little explanation
This book was awful. Each chapter starts with some high level description of Oracle architecture or functionality, but then devolves into screen captures of command-based text sessions with little to no explanation of the command syntax and options. There is little to no dissection of the results. Sure, I could go to the online documentation and look up each line from the screenshots to figure out what's going on. But THAT'S WHY I BUY A BOOK: So the author can cull the information and present it in a more linear, pre-packaged format. This author understands Oracle. And he even knows who to write. But he doesn't seem to know how to TEACH.
