Unexpected events which appear to be connected to the murder keep Loren on edge -a frightening visit from Tammy's drunken stepfather and a report that someone broke into Tammy's car after it was raised from the lake. There are also rumors about the owners of the hotels and motels where Tammy worked and a journal she kept. When a freak tornado slashes across a secluded campground on the Point, Loren learns how far a killer will go to cover up his crime.
