This second book about the McCain family took up where Letter Perfect ended. I expected it to be a usual love story, but half way through it shocked me and I couldn't see how it could be fixed. I felt anguish for Laney and Galen and yet over time, I began to feel for Ivy as well. Towards the end of the book I wasn't sure which way it would go, or even if I knew how I wanted it to end. It had a satisfactory ending, though. I see why it was called Bittersweet. The bitter lessons learned made the ending sweeter.
