Along with the title story, this book contains a second story titled, The Killer, which can be found in another two story collection called, Six Gun Duo, published in 1965 by Ace. Brand Fires on the Ridge also had another life as Wipe Out the Brierlys published by Belmont Tower in the early 1970's. Yet that makes no difference if you want these Haycox short novels to complete your collection of published works in book form. Sadly, not all of his short work has been collected in anthology form--He wrote over 300 short stories. These two are excellent ones.
