Building and Using an Astronomical Observatory, Paul Doherty 1986
ISBN 0-85059-808-7 232 pages
What a misleading title! The title actually should be "Building a Telescope, Oh, and a Little Bit About Building an Observatory"
This is actually a really good book about building a telescope. It tells gow to grind and polish the mirror, talks about tubes, building an equitorial mount, filter holders...but only 12 or 14 pages about observatories.
If you want to build your own telescope, you should add this book to your collection. If you want to build an observatory get a copy of John Hicks' "building a roll-off roof Observatory"
