By reason of insanity
By Reason of Insanity by Shane Stevens is one of the most intriguing books I have ever read. I would recommend this book for any one who can handle the disturbing nature of it.

THE Serial Killer Novel.
This book set the bar for serial killers in american fiction and the bar hasn't been touched. There are so many cop against serial iller novels out there that finding one that stands so far above the pack is a true gift. If you enjoy the crime genre that pits man against man in a race against time to try and save innocent lives from a twisted killer bent on slashing his way across the world, READ THIS BOOK. When I say that I would reccommend it to a friend, I mean a friend with a strong stomach. The graphic descriptions of violence seem excessive in some novels, but Shane stevens uses the horror to further highten the readers sense of helplessness in the face of what seems to be unstopable evil. I have not found a book that makes me feel as much as this does. So many feelings too. Fear, disgust, sympathy, empathy, loathing, anger, sadness, hope, and bitter hatred just to skim the surface. Shane stevens is an under rated genius in the genre of crime/horror novels, recognized mostly by his peers; such as Stephen King who mentions the character in this book as one of his inspirations for the bad guy in his novel "The Dark Half". King also raves about some of Stevens other books as well. Thank goodness that some of these are starting to be released so that a whole new generation ofpaperback thrill seekers can get to know one of the all time great writers of this genre of crime novels, and the characters he has scared so many of us with.
