NICOLAAS BEETS (1814-1903) was een Nederlandse predikant, hoogleraar, auteur en dichter bekend onder het pseudoniem HILDEBRAND. Camera Obscura was zijn bekendste werk. Andere werken zijn: Jos??? (1834), Kuser (1835) en Guy de Vlaming (1837).
