Novel about a cynical and drug abusing white lawyer who "tunes up inside" by adopting a young black boy. A curious and presumably self-published title, perhaps with autobiographical elements. The author is shown on the front panel with a young black boy; and on the rear cover with his lily white family. To add to the mystery, several years later this title and a sequel *Chocolate Charlie Comes Home* both became mainstream mass market paperbacks. This true first is very uncommon.
