Excellent excerpt from "Beautiful Evidence"
This is actually a chapter in Ed Tufte's latest book "Beautiful Evidence",
but is so compelling that I bought three extra copies to pass around at
my company which is guilty of writing specifications using PowerPoint.,
a practice Tufte excoriates. If you are frustrated by the simple-minded
bulletized content of PowerPoint presentations, this pamphlet explains
that you are not alone and why PowerPoint for technical presentations
is so wrong....
But if you have a few extra dollars, buy Tufte's "Beautiful Evidence"
instead -- you will get the same content and a lot more wonderful
material showing wonderful examples of how to present evidence. And if
you are not familiar with Tufte's work, buy his first and best book,
"The Visual Display of Quantitative Information" as an introduction to
his thinking.
