Not a good book for an introduction to computer vision. Many aspects are covered by hand waving and quick explanations because he tries to cover too many topics. The notation is very inconsistent - I would not reccommend this book. My favorite part is that on the back cover it states "Self Contained - No need for other references". A bit pretentious I think.
