I can't fathom why this cookbook isn't still in print. Hands down the best one i own, filled with delicious recipes that will suit a wide range of tastes and budgets.
Favorites include a cold cherry soup for summer, an egg and ricotta souffle that i make with splenda for a protein packed actively good dish that works for breakfast and dessert, just by changing the serving temperature, and an adobo chicken and red onion dish that delivers huge flavors and moisture to chicken breasts,v let alone thighs.
This is a great gift for a budding foodie, a newly independent college grad who wants to eat well, as well as a cookbook collector and experienced cook.
Many recipes are simple, but not all of them... As the author says, just because the ingredients are simple doesn't inherently mean the techniques are, too.
There is no cook book i own from which i cook more recipes. I'd pay full price again to buy it as a gift, but at these prices don't miss the chance to own a copy!
