I read a lot of book and articles on the argument; it seems that many PhD keeps the sectrects of PLL design for them and their companies.... This book, written for technician grade students and professional engineers, is what I was looking from meny years. Professor Rohde was very deep, sometimes practical, and anytime you can feel his experience on the field. I think this is a "must read" book for any serious designer on the field of PLL syntesis, best if you have studied before the theory from texts of Egan, Manassewitch ond Gardner.

this book is filled with good info. Some of it is a review of what we studied in school. Contains a lot of practical info. altho it's 30 years old, if you are using or designing frequency synthesizers it should be required reading. on the negative side, it doesn't cover modern ic devices that were introduced since it was published.
