As always, Zahn uses realistic fiction and well-thought-out sci-fi concepts to create a series of good stories. The centerpiece of the book is a trio of short stories about telepaths, the "Distant Friends" of the title. Each of these three stories stands well on its own. The unrelated stories that follow are also of high quality. All told, the entire package is definitely worth buying for any fan of Zahn.
