This second novel was a much better mystery than the first one, now that Mike Connolly isn't a drunk anymore. His relationship with his ex-wife begins to improve. He also has a quirky, elderly secretary who looks out for him. She even has to teach him how to use a VCR. It would be better if his cases weren't solved with the help of visions, but I suppose that's his theological slant.
