Definitely Not Middle of the Road
Read Dragonsong, part 1 of the Harper Hall Trilogy, first so you'll be current on Menolly's search to fulfill her dream, then enjoy life at Harper Hall as she discovers how special she really is. This provides great insight to handling school problems, teens, and it's easy reading. I just had to get my own hardcover copy for frequent reading.
