Frederic Manning was an Australian poet who fought in France during World War One. Upon his return, he published this collection of poems inspired by his experiences at the Battle of the Somme and the horror of the trenches. This first edition is scarcely found in commerce. Â An excellent example with the publisher's compliments imprinted to the title page. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear only and a minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and tot he extremities. The cloth to the spine has slightly faded. With a previous ownership signature tot he half title, and the publisher's compliments imprinted to the title page. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean. Very Good Indeed.
