Very Good "Second-Pass" Electronics Textbook
This textbook probably takes the most fundamental and conceptual approach to electronics I've ever seen. It's a great reading textbook; the author guides you through the relevant electromagnetics and quantum physics, and clearly connects them to the behavior of various electronic components. However, while the connections between the underlying physics and the electrical characteristics are emphasized, the physics itself is presented very quickly and matter-of-factly. Without a background in electromagnetics and quantum physics (with the former being much more important), this book would be very confusing.
