This book, written from the unique perspective of Hugh Gregory Gallagher, who like FDR was a polio survivor who underwent therapy at Warm Springs, Georgia, is a gem. It details the most interesting aspect of FDR's public life: having the public all at once know that he had polio, and yet formulate the presentation of Roosevelt's life in such a way that his polio was basically dismissed by all, except for the true, hard-core Roosevelt haters, such as Eugene Talmadge, of Georgia.
If you're a history buff, a good book. If you're like me, an FDR buff, a must-read.
