Seller's Description:
Near Fine in Very Good dust jacket. 087691136X. Hardcover first printing with dustjacket, inscribed and signed by the author: "To John-Simply one of the nicest, greatest guys I've ever had the privilege of knowing and working with-and a hell of a rod builder to boot! Dale P. Clemens" The book is in excellent condition, a tiny amount of edge-rubbing to the cloth is the only remarkable flaw, the jacket has moderate edge-wear, the original price (10.00) is present and a professional (removable) mylar cover is included; 189 pages; Signed by Author.
This is the best reference for any rodbuilder from beginner to advanced. Dale explains it all in an easy to read format. Definetly the best text on the subject.

Nice Cover
The Book has a nice photo cover and could use more photos in the body of the book. The line drawings that support most of the text sometimes come up a little short. The "Tools" section could show a few pictures and it could be a little more complete. I see the authors object of showing you how you can make your own rod with practically nothing in the way of tools could appeal to an appartment dweller as well as a home owner with a garage workshop, but; a little more ingenuity could help. The example of using the book as a tensioner is good but the caution of holding the rod level while winding could also have been simplified if a picture showing the rod itself also being supported by books on the right and left side with height adjusted to keep the rod level. It is still a simple table top operation and allows you to concentrate on keeping the winding closely spaced and eliminates the "rod level" variable. This is just one example and overall this book would provide for the average begining rod builder.

Good Book!
This is an excellent book to learn the basics to build any fishing rod! The principals apply to any type of rod you would want to make! I bought it to complete a set of all Mr. Clemens" books. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn more than you will ever need to know about rodbuilding!
